The Laramie Project, by Moisés Kaufman and the Members of Tectonic Theater Project.
A charity event to strengthen the LGBT community in Pasadena.
Directed by: Mike Alva
Produced by: Daniel Su
Stage Manager: Christine Hart
In 1998 members of the Tectonic Theater Project traveled to Laramie, WY to conduct interviews with the people of the town, following the brutal murder of Matthew Shepard, a local gay college student. Over the course of a year, the company members would return to Laramie several times to conduct over 200 interviews with the towns people. This story is edited from those interviews, as well as journal entries from the companies members and other found text with the purpose of piecing together the truth behind the apparent hate crime.
